Ukrainian Genocide Remembrance Day 2006

St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral hosted an All-Faith Memorial service for the over 10,000,000 victims of the Ukrainian Genocide.

A community procession marched from the Cathedral to the Ukrainian Cultural Center for a Memorial Lunch Reception.

Illinois State Representative Paul Froehlich was honored with an award from the Ukrainian Genocide Famine Foundation - USA for his sponsorship of
Illinois House Bill 312.  House Bill 312 was signed into law in 2005, making the Ukrainian Genocide a part of every public school's curriculum.
